Hi everyone, this is the improved version of my previous Differential Drive Robot. I didn’t think about any name yet; but will figure out one soon. Anyway, this improved prototype has an IR Rangefinder attached to it which can detect distance of any object in front of it within a range of 10cm to 80cm. And an extra servo is added to this new version to rotate the sensor left or right. Let’s take a closer look at the new prototype.
Whenever the robot faces an obstacle in front of it, it looks left and right, and thinks about which side has enough space to go for. Then it turns to that side and moves forward. Check out the following video to see how the robot moves.

thats really great, just wondering how about if your robot can store the street map of the specific location (currently where robot is running) and can go through following that map.
so let’s say, you robot has entered in our office, when it will enter it will be connected with our wireless device (through wifi or bluetooth), our wireless device will send the whole street (or walkable location) map. so your robot will move based on that instruction.
i believe that would help your robot to learn the street, location or whatever. so it can improve the way it walks through.
let’s say, in future, you may ask your robot, “buddy, i need a mac premier burger”, so your robot will search into it’s own memory to find the nearest mac shop. and roboto will automatically move through the map.
